Here is a little bio: I am an artist selling my art on etsy, I also blog quite frequently here. I'm a stay at home mother to two little girls. 17 months and 5 years old. I married my husband 6 years ago, after only 3 weeks of dating, and 3 months of being officially engaged. He is a huge inspiration to me, and is full of ideas... although I admit sometimes he has a few too many. ;)

We live in a 900 sq. ft home, that was built in 1892. I love the character of our house, but would really appreciate having something bigger. You'll see what I mean when I show you this picture:

See what I mean? This is my studio/crafting corner, a spot in our kitchen that I have claimed as my own. I've been day dreaming of having an official art room for as long as I can remember. Way before I ever got married and had a house of my own. :) Due to my space issue, I have to be suuper creative in making the best use of my space. I love ikea, and I have to say, they have made it affordable for me to think outside of the box. When your short on space, its always a good idea to think vertical. I have the added bonus of having super high ceilings.

The bookcase is called the billy bookcase from ikea and it is pretty narrow, which allows for a non crowded walkway where its needed. I bought the doors to go on the bookcase, and it was more then worth the money. Here is a "PEEK" inside the doors!

This older picture shows just how much stuff I have managed to fit inside. Inventory for the shop, paint, art supplies, paper, etc. etc. Lots of stuff. Without the doors my kitchen would look like it was in constant need of some tidying up. Now I can keep it all behind closed doors. Without a PEEK, they'll never know! ;)

Well, I hope everyone has enjoyed your peek at my craft studio. Maybe in a few months I'll be able to return with a PEEK at a new craft room/studio. :) Thanks Kristi for having me!

Thanks so much Jessica! Jessica is in the midst of showing her home and I so appreciate her take time out of her busy schedule to do this PEEK. You're awesome!
I stumbled onto Jessica's blog just a short while ago and fell in LOVE with her art and her style of decor. You MUST stop by her blog. You will love it. I'm having such a hard time deciding what I want to buy from her shop! Share some comment love to Jessica. Doesn't this just make you feel like you can have a creative spot no matter how limited you feel your space is? I love how she made this space her own in her kitchen. It's perfect!

Here's your reminder that if you wish to participate in PEEK send me an email! Do it. Ready........go!

oooh love how she utilizes a small space and totally makes it work!!! (Jessica - Jennifer Johner is one of my very favorites!!)
I'm totally off to check out her etsy shop!!
Very cool! Just checked out her blog/etsy and will definitely need to revisit. Very fun style.
Love her space. Thanks for sharing with us Jessica!
what a great spot and use of space!! I wish I had somewhere cool for people to take a PEEK at!!
Umm I bet you have lots of fun places to peek at Sonja. Your purse, your closet, your kitchen cupboards....tons of places! Doesn't just have to be an art area...we like to snoop in all areas!
Amazing stuff in such a small space. That is really cool.
good job Jessica --I live in a 950 sq. foot house also. I KNOW limited space. And I don't have 2 little kids running around in it.
fun to see the creativity
Thanks so much everyone for the kind comments! :) I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures!
Seriously this space gives me hope because we'll be house hunting soon and I know we won't have the space for a art room for me...makes me think outside of the box!
OHH I love her blog too! I'm digging your Peek series.
