Ever have one of those days where all you see in yourself is ALL of your faults?
You know you do....
Where you compare yourself to others strengths and focus on all of your weaknesses?

I had one of those days the other day. Sometimes I can shake it off. But if I'm tired or off in any way it's harder to drag myself out. But I have this wise hot husband who said something so....so profound yet so hot husband-ish you're going to find it very inspired and such a fitting example as to how not just a man thinks...but how my husband thinks.

Because I was having this moment of self pity. And because unfortunately he has to be the person to "PEP" talk me....he finally said very late at night this statement.
"When I used to play basketball I'd dribble the best with my right hand. My strong hand. So I decided that for every one dribble with my right hand, I'd dribble four times with my left to build up the strength in my left hand. So for every bad thought you have...you need to replace it with four good thoughts. Now go to sleep."
Umm brilliant much????

So on this December 1st...starting the most wonderful season of the year....might we give the gift to ourselves and to loved ones around us to stop comparing, stop being mean to ourselves, stop focusing on our weaknesses, and stop self hatred talk. And instead start to love ourselves, be grateful for what we have, recognize our gifts and for every negative self talk, replace with four positive thoughts.
And might I recommend THIS book. {and the movie ROCKS too!} I think she's really got something that is true and right.
Lots of hugs and well....hugs...H1N1 is around and I ain't kissin ya!
Wasn't that all so deep? Sometimes I read and it makes me deep. That's like WHOA!

wow Matt! Who knew he was so wise:)
This was a wonderful post to read first thing this morning!
Husband's can be so wise...it's part of their hot husband charm.
And your photos were so cool!
He really is HOT....I mean WISE! ;)
love the photos. love the winter banner (sorry if that is "old news", i'm not always observant) and i love the hubby's take on things. leave it to the guys to make things simple and sweet.
I can just see hubby giving you that advice "relating it to HIS sports world" and then saying, goodnight now, and turning over to go to sleep.
Men are so much more precise that way. They find simple solutions.
Isn't it awful how MEAN we are to ourselves with words that we would never say to our friends and loved ones.
I know those feelings as well and it is very hard to "believe in myself" to feel true worth.
what great advice!! So true too, think happy thoughts!
So nice, this makes perfect sense! Miss you lady - happy holidays out there!
