A great book I read last year, and then met the author. "Finding April Raintree" the unedited version. I work with Aborginal kids and I found this book to be an eye opener. My understanding is it was a book that was/is read in high school; but an edited version; because of a rape scene.

Another thing we have in common. My husband finds it hard to believe that I could just sit there and read and actually laugh out loud...he doesn't like to read, so I read to him. One of my favorite books is "The Dog Who Wouldn't Be", by Farley Mowat. I'm also in th middle of "The Explosive Child", a self-help book so I guess that makes me a little mental too, lol! That was great! Thanks Becca and Kristi! I too am always looking for a new good book. I am excited to read a few mentioned! I LOVE Dr. Laura's books and also the Total Money Makeover! They are so good and you're right, ones that you should read every six months or so. I also have Aaron Ralston's book and I thought it was an amazing story. That one reminded me a little of Lance Armstrong's books. You should get those. I enjoyed reading his stories about all of his Tour wins! Right now I have been mostly reading the conference Ensign. I am waiting on some new books from Amazon that I am excited about. Some parenting books cause I love them!

This was a truly fun peek. Nothing better than reading. I have lots of bookshelves full of many of the same books you have mentioned here. Only my travel guides are to Romania, since that is where I served my mission. :)

Not reading anything at the moment. I just finished The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield. I really loved it but it's some heavy material. I think maybe I'll read light Christmas fluffy reads for a while now.

Am I the first one to post?? wow, I am on the blogging ball today!!

right now, I am ready a book called "Teaching Children Joy" It was written a long time ago and you can sort of tell sometimes, because they were talking about spanking as an acceptable form of punishment. (how times have changed)
BUT anyway, other than the spanks, it is really wonderful, sometimes we focus so much on teaching our kids to go potty, walk, talk, feed them selves, teach them to read and write and add. But what we all really want is for our kids to be happy and have joy !!!!
So anyway, I just started a few days ago but I am enjoying the book so far!!!
